Levels of Understanding

  Knowledge Experience Resource Utilization Supervision
Awareness
  • Working knowledge of the necessary laws or requirements or processes
  • 0–1 year of prior job/field experience or practical exposure
  • Able to discern who or which department to call
  • Maximum level of supervision (of the process or task) required
  • Minimal coursework or training completed (0-2 semester courses)
  • No experience in the planning/implementation process
 
  • Requires outsourcing of complete project or task
 
  • No prior involvement in the completion of project deliverables
   
General
Understanding
  • Intermediate knowledge of the necessary laws/requirements/processes
  • 1–3 years of related job/field experience
  • Able to find appropriate resources to complete task
  • Some supervision required
  • Some coursework or training completed (>2 semester courses)
  • Prior participation in the planning/implementation process
 
  • Requires partial outsourcing of project or task
 
  • Prior involvement in the completion of project deliverables
   
Technical
Proficiency
  • Intermediate knowledge of the necessary laws or requirements processes
  • 1–3 years of related job/field experience
  • Functions as available resource to complete task
  • No supervision required
  • Coursework or training completed (< 4 semester courses)
  • Prior participation in the planning/implementation process
 
  • Ability to complete entire project or task
  • Other credentials received (certification etc.)
  • Prior involvement in the completion of project deliverables
 
  • Possesses decision-making authority
